Tie The Hood in Alpakka Ull and Tynn Silk Mohair – a scarf and hood in one, that can be tied in many ways to suit your mood and style. Knitted from the top down in a soft, airy mohair blend, it makes for a cosy and elegant accessory.
Tie the hood is a combined scarf and hood, and worked with double yarn = 1 strand ALPAKKA ULL + 1 strand TYNN SILK MOHAIR.
Begin with the hood, and work from top down. Cast on with Judy`s Magic Cast-On to avoid visible seam at top of head. For a more beginner friendly version, work regular cast on and sew hood tog at top at finishing.
Shape of hood is created with a mix of turning rows , inc and dec.
Cont to cast on sts for scarf, and work from point to point. Work back and forth with inc and i-cord edgings, then join scarf to hood. Knit up sts at edge of hood, and work 1-cord edging, before it is joined to scarf, and work last half of scarf back and forth with dec and i-cord edgings.
- Knitting Needles: Knitting Needle no. 5
- Knitting tension: 17 sts = 10 cm
The number of balls is based on the given dimensions. If you want longer garments, please remember that you may need extra yarn.
