Seeknit (Kinki Amibari) have been producing beautiful bamboo knitting needles for the last 100 years and are located between Osaka and Kyoto.
From the finely ground needle points and carefully polished surface of the aged bamboo, to the flexible rotating joint that prevents twisting, Seeknit needles are a joy to work with.
The material for the Koshitsu bamboo needles is stored for up to 10 years and then steamed to harden and prevent warping. This makes the Koshitsu bamboo well suited to smaller needle sizes. The needles are further treated with natural wax for a beautiful finish.
Bamboo knitting needles have been a long-time favourite among knitters all over the world. Unlike any other material, the strong, durable fibres in bamboo make the needles light and flexible. Bamboo that grows in Japan is especially hard and resilient, reinforced by fibres called fibrovascular bundles, giving it excellent lustre. Seeknit only use carefully selected naturalized “Moso bamboo” grown in Japan.
Seeknit have introduced environmentally friendly packaging materials that are plastic-free and FSC-certified to greatly reduce the amount of plastic and secondary materials used for packaging.
All Seeknit interchangeable circular needle sets are packaged in a paper envelope type or craft paper case.
