The inspiration for this oversized sweater comes from Japanese woodcuts, reflected in the flowing, contrasting fields of colour – like a sea in motion: shimmering, foaming and dancing – hence the name Umi, the Japanese word for sea. The shape of the sweater is inspired by traditional Japanese design, with a simple and spacious cut. Like a warm embrace, it can be worn on cool summer days – perhaps for a trip out on the sea, or simply out into the blue.

Each of the colour’s A and B are worked with 1 strand of each yarn held together. Colour C is worked with 4 strands held together and is used only for casting on stitches.
