QUALITY – NATURAL MATERIALS
THIN LAMA WOOL, is a soft, rustic and 1-thread yarn consisting of 50% Llama wool and 50% Peruvian Highland wool.
THIN LAMAULD is the same quality as LAMAULD ½. Two strands of THIN LAMAULD can be used as an alternative to and together with LAMAULD ½.
Lama wool's fibers are an exclusive natural product, lanolin-free, light and strong. The hollow structure of the fibers gives an exceptionally good insulating ability, which makes llama wool considerably warmer than ordinary sheep's wool. The yarn's rustic appearance, high insulating ability and strength make TYND LAMAULD particularly suitable for classic Nordic knitwear, shawls, scarves, baby blankets and other clothing that needs to be light, strong and warm.
THIN LAMAULD is spun single-threaded and only unfolds completely when it is knitted and rinsed. A knitted and washed sample is therefore recommended to get the full impression of the yarn's properties, expression and softness. Llama wool naturally has highly variable fiber lengths, which gives surplus fibers in the work process. The majority of these fibers are washed out during the first washes. NOTE, Thin Lama wool has a tendency to twist in the stitch pattern due to its thickness and the 1-thread spinning when it is knitted in the round in stockinette stitch with one thread alone.
THIN LAMAULD from CaMaRose is produced in Peru with consideration for both the environment, animal welfare, the local farmers and workers. The manufacturer is Oeko-tex certified on all its wool products and uses solar energy in production. High quality standards and consideration for the environment, animals and people in production are the basis for the spinner's collaboration with CaMaRose since 2010.
